SSC CGL 2025 EXAM

SSC Faces Turmoil: Glitches, Protests, Cheating, and Legal Woes

1. Manipulated Candidate Records: Fraud Within the System

Recently, the SSC uncovered deliberate tampering of debarment lists on its official website—traced to a forged email from a discontinued SSC email address. This manipulation, affecting records from 2019 to 2022, impacted eligibility verifications across government bodies, including the Ministry of Road & Transport and NCLAT. A legal case has been registered with the Delhi Police’s crime branch, and the firm managing the SSC website (contracted May 2025–April 2026) has received a show-cause notice following internal audits.

2. Phase-13 Exam Disaster: Glitches, Protests, and Re-test Plans

The SSC’s Selection Post Phase 13 examination, conducted between July 24 and August 1, 2025, was marred by severe malfunctions: abrupt cancellations, software and biometric failures, and erroneous exam centre assignments disrupting hundreds of candidates.

Outrage ignited with thousands of aspirants and educators (notably “Neetu mam”) staging sit-ins under the hashtag #SSCMisManagement at Jantar Mantar and CGO Complex in Delhi—events that even saw viral instances of police lathi charges.

In response, SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan announced that the exam will not be fully cancelled, but affected candidates—estimated at 2,500—will be provided with a re-test opportunity. The commission has directed its platform vendor, Eduquity Career Technologies, to explain and rectify errors.

3. SSC CGL Postponed: Ripple Effect of the Phase-13 Fiasco

Due to ongoing technical fallout, the SSC postponed the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) 2025 Tier‑1 exam, originally scheduled for August 13–30. The revised dates are now in the first week of September 2025. Additionally, the One-Time Registration (OTR) edit window will reopen from August 14–31, allowing candidates to make necessary changes.

4. Cheating Cartel Busted in Haldwani: Remote-Controlled Exam Fraud

In a shocking security breach, law enforcement in Haldwani arrested nine individuals accused of orchestrating a nationwide cheating racket. The group allegedly facilitated SSC exam fraud by remotely controlling candidates’ systems via desktop software, enabling them to solve exams on candidates’ behalf. Authorities confiscated laptops, mobile phones, Wi‑Fi dongles, and other tech equipment during the raid.

5. GD-PET Admit Cards Issued: SSC Moves Forward Amid Chaos

Amid the controversies, the SSC released admit cards for the General Duty Physical Efficiency Test (GD‑PET) 2025. Approximately 394,000 candidates will undergo physical testing—covering benchmarks like height and running—starting August 20, vying for 53,690 vacancies. Admit cards can be downloaded from the CRPF’s official portal.
